Due to the nature of crewel work, there are inherent issues that are unavoidable and do not carry the same guarantee as machine embroidered fabrics.
Handcrafted in Kashmir using age old embroidery techniques, crewel work is indigenous to this region only.
Each piece of fabric is unique, as different groups of workers are employed for each piece.
Every care is taken to maintain a consistent yarn color & embroidery pattern, however it is not practically possible to maintain perfect matches. There may also be missing yarns / slight staining. This is deemed normal.

Worth the wait
Beautiful fabric and so easy to sew. I had 14 metres and soon realised that the quoted repeat was not as stated but that just added to the uniqueness of the material. So refreshing to know that this was handmade. When I asked why the fabric was delayed to be told that they'd had snow and hadn't been able to wash it as quickly as they'd have liked just added to the sense that I was working with something special. Can't wait to finally hang the curtains and enjoy them in their full glory.
