IMPORTANT NOTE:
Due to the nature of crewel work, there are inherent issues that are unavoidable and do not carry the same guarantee as machine embroidered fabrics.
Handcrafted in Kashmir using age old embroidery techniques, crewel work is indigenous to this region only.
Each piece of fabric is unique, as different groups of workers are employed for each piece.
Every care is taken to maintain a consistent yarn color & embroidery pattern, however it is not practically possible to maintain perfect matches. There may also be missing yarns / slight staining. This is deemed normal.

just what I wanted
Lovely piece of material that came in a timely manner. There was a little yellow discoloring which turned out to be only on the wrong side. The fabric is being used for upholstery for an antique chair, so I ended up putting a binder on the wrong side, so as not to stretch too much and leave a "bottom" indentation - there was quite a bit of give in the weave. Even the upholsterer thinks the fabric will look great against the luis xv frame

lovely fabric
We had some understandable trouble getting the fabric due to the flooding they had but when it arrived and we had our sofa recovered it worked beautifully and we are very pleased. I will probably order the drapes made in the matching fabric.

slightly more creamy coloured crewel work
Sent for samples to choose. This is lovely, but the crewel work / wool embroidery is slightly stronger cream against the background than I am looking for, so probably going for TML -502 instead. But depends what you want. The pattern on this will be more apparent, and a creamier overall effect. Obviously a large pattern repeat (Tree of Life usually is..) because can't match up my 3 cuttings ( - about 6 ins square, oblong, each) with the photo on the site. Think there's a small butterfly in there somewhere!

Lovely curtains...
These are lovely curtains with a handmade appeal that really suits the older cottage I live in. They're made from cotton duck and so are not too formal. I chose the white on white pattern because it doesn't cash with printed fabric in the room. I've hung them in a bedroom.
