IMPORTANT NOTE:
Due to the nature of crewel work, there are inherent issues that are unavoidable and do not carry the same guarantee as machine embroidered fabrics.
Handcrafted in Kashmir using age old embroidery techniques, crewel work is indigenous to this region only.
Each piece of fabric is unique, as different groups of workers are employed for each piece.
Every care is taken to maintain a consistent yarn color & embroidery pattern, however it is not practically possible to maintain perfect matches. There may also be missing yarns / slight staining. This is deemed normal.

Best of Kashmir performance
We bought 18m of cotton crewel embroidered fabric "Tree of Life" from Best of Kashmir. The cost was US$663 with 100% paid up front. At the time of the order on 5th February 2022 delivery was promised on 3rd April 2022. But in fact delivery did not occur until 24th May 2022. We are happy with the quality of the delivered product which is the main thing, but disappointed with the communications and delivery performance. Good communication is especially important when you've paid up front in full and worry about whether and when you will receive the goods you've paid a lot of money for. Allan Fletcher

Slow/ Inappropriate service
I was sent this Questionnaire asking me about "the Fabric Purchased" before I had purchased the Fabric... I waited for about 3 weeks for Samples to arrive.... and response to emails has been slow, and disappointing. I can see from the Samples that the Fabric/ Design is just what I wd like - but i cannot order until I have an answer to enquiries sent on 6th March, but still not received, almost 10 days later.

Sample Review
The samples came very fast...thank you for that. However any sample ordered that were called "White on White" (TML502, TML552 and this one, DDR021) were identical to samples called cream. That is, neither the stitching nor the fabric was anywhere near white which was a disappointment.

beautiful fabric, helpful company~

just what I wanted
Lovely piece of material that came in a timely manner. There was a little yellow discoloring which turned out to be only on the wrong side. The fabric is being used for upholstery for an antique chair, so I ended up putting a binder on the wrong side, so as not to stretch too much and leave a "bottom" indentation - there was quite a bit of give in the weave. Even the upholsterer thinks the fabric will look great against the luis xv frame

lovely fabric
We had some understandable trouble getting the fabric due to the flooding they had but when it arrived and we had our sofa recovered it worked beautifully and we are very pleased. I will probably order the drapes made in the matching fabric.

slightly more creamy coloured crewel work
Sent for samples to choose. This is lovely, but the crewel work / wool embroidery is slightly stronger cream against the background than I am looking for, so probably going for TML -502 instead. But depends what you want. The pattern on this will be more apparent, and a creamier overall effect. Obviously a large pattern repeat (Tree of Life usually is..) because can't match up my 3 cuttings ( - about 6 ins square, oblong, each) with the photo on the site. Think there's a small butterfly in there somewhere!

Lovely curtains...
These are lovely curtains with a handmade appeal that really suits the older cottage I live in. They're made from cotton duck and so are not too formal. I chose the white on white pattern because it doesn't cash with printed fabric in the room. I've hung them in a bedroom.
